Mutual Visa Exemption - FAQ

Q1: How to calculate the 30-day stay and 90 days within 180 days?

A: The 180-day period is counted backward from the date of entry. The 90-day limit does not include days under visa, residence permit or APEC card. If you have accumulated 90 days in the past 180 days, you cannot enter visa-free.

Q2: What should I do if my passport is lost after entry?

A: You may exit with an emergency travel document issued by your embassy after verification of identity and no overstay.

Q3: Can I extend my stay beyond 30 days?

A: You must leave before expiration. For emergency reasons, apply for a stay permit at local immigration before expiry.

Q4: Do I need to complete accommodation registration?

A: Yes. Registration shall be completed within 24 hours at hotel or local police station.

Q5: What passports are eligible?

A: Only valid passports specified in the bilateral agreement are eligible.

Q6: What activities are NOT allowed?

A: Work, employment, study, media reporting, long-term residence are prohibited.
